CITRUS DROP-OFF PROGRAM STARTS SATURDAY
Residents can donate quality citrus and help control the roof rat population by participating in the annual Arcadia Citrus Drop-Off Program.
A six-yard container will be available starting Saturday, Jan. 29, through April 2 at the Scottsdale Elks Lodge parking lot, 6398 E. Oak St., to collect citrus.
Residential drop-off times are anytime Monday through Friday and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon. Commercial drop-off times are anytime Monday through Friday and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The donated fruit will be delivered to local food banks, senior homes, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office jail system and Arizona Indian Reservation communities. NEW BUS BOOK FEATURES UPDATED ROUTES
The new Valley Metro Bus Book is in effect and many routes have major changes that could affect Scottsdale residents. Go to the Valley Metro website for an overview of changes or a complete list of all bus routes. All Valley Metro buses are handicapped accessible and "bike friendly" with a rack on the front for two bikes.

The city hosts numerous open houses during the year to inform and gather feedback from residents on a variety of projects. Now there's a great way to learn about such meetings. The city has created a web page with a calendar of all planned open houses. Here's the address:
