Tempe bus drivers and union avert strike




TEMPE, Ariz. - A strike that could have impacted ATC-Tempe bus routes
and the connecting routes in the Valley Metro system beginning as early
as Wednesday, August 10 will not occur. ATU (the union representing
ATC-Tempe's bus drivers) and Tempe's bus contractor, ATC-Tempe, adopted
a new collective bargaining agreement Sunday. As a result, Tempe bus
drivers will not strike. All bus routes in the Valley Metro system will
continue to operate as normally scheduled.
