Japanese Friendship Garden Offering Season Opening Event
The Japanese Friendship Garden will celebrate reopening for the fall season with a two-part celebration of Japanese culture on Oct. 7. From 4 to 7 p.m. the Garden, located at 1125 N. Third Ave., will mark First Friday with performers on site playing the roles of their favorite popular Japanese Animation characters. A Japanese flutist will round out the entertainment at this free event.
Later that evening at 7 p.m., Japanese sword and folk dancers and a classical flutist will perform at the Phoenix Center Theater, 1202 N. Third St. Tickets for this performance cost $20 for reserved seating, $14 for general admission and $10 for students. For information, call 602-256-3204.
Though the fall celebration is Oct. 7, the Garden will officially open for the fall season on Oct. 1.
