FIRST ASU SCOTTSDALE CENTER TENANTS ANNOUNCED.

At this morning's groundbreaking for the ASU Scottsdale Center, developers of the project announced the first tenants to open offices at the center -- eFunds, an electronic-payment and risk management company has a fast growing global outsourcing business and provides customer support for clients in financial, retail and telecommunications industries and Wildfire Broadband Communications, the business that Scottsdale contracted with to install wireless fidelity, commonly called Wi-Fi, to serve downtown Scottsdale. Wildfire Broadband also has a contract to install Wi-Fi at the center.

Recently the development partners of the project announced that the center will be named and marketed as SkySong, capitalizing on the visibility of the iconic shade structure named SkySong that will soar over the public plaza in the center of the 37-acre site.

The Scottsdale City Council unanimously approved design plans for the first phases of the center, which will be located on the southeast corner of Scottsdale and McDowell roads, on Dec. 13. Construction of the first building could begin in March or April. The first phase includes extensive landscaping along McDowell and Scottsdale roads and throughout the interior of the site. The first phase includes four-story buildings, each with about 157,000 square feet. Most of the square footage will be for office and research space, with some first-floor space allocated for retail uses. Artists' renderings and elevations depicting the revised plans are posted on the city's website at http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/ASUScottsdale/_slides/Phase1proposal-img1.asp
